Position Overview:
Moore Security Solutions is seeking an experienced Lead Security Technician to oversee and execute the installation, service, and commissioning of commercial security and low-voltage systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can manage job sites, guide junior technicians, and ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead installation and service of access control, video surveillance (CCTV), intrusion alarm, and structured cabling systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications
- Manage daily job site activities, including coordinating with general contractors, project managers, and other trades
- Supervise and mentor field technicians, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to company standards
- Perform system programming, testing, troubleshooting, and final commissioning
- Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and project requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation, including as-builts, service reports, and material usage
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions with internal teams and clients
- Assist with material planning, inventory, and job costing when needed
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Security Alarm License (or ability to obtain)
- 3–5+ years of experience in commercial security or low-voltage installation
- Strong knowledge of access control systems (e.g., Brivo, ZKTeco or similar platforms)
- Experience with IP-based video surveillance systems and networking fundamentals
- Ability to lead a crew and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in reading construction drawings and technical diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on commercial construction projects
- OSHA certification (10 or 30)
- Manufacturer certifications (access control, CCTV, or structured cabling)
- Knowledge of fire alarm integration is a plus
